Total newcomers will normally join the band on the first practice date after the local school term holidays. You will be given a few weeks to see if piping / drumming is for you without any outlay on tutor books etc. After that you will need to purchase the required tutor book from the band.
Those with some piping or drumming experience can join at any time.
If you are new to piping / drumming then please be assured that advice will be given about the standard of equipment which needs to be purchased eg chanter. When it comes to playing pipes it may be possible to have a loan of a set for a short time but eventually a set of pipes will need to be bought. Drums and harnesses are supplied by the band.
