NOVICE JUVENILE BAND

The Novice Juvenile Band came into existence in June 2009 as RSPBA band number 989.

The Novice Juvenile Band is a competitive forum for our younger players up to the age of 18.

However, it is possible for players of this age to be chosen to compete in the adult band instead.

The band is currently lead by Pipe Major Alistair Duthie.  Fergus Allan is the drumming instructor.

The Novice Juvenile Band spends time practising as a group and also as part of the whole Perth and District band.

For events other than competitions the younger players and adults normally play together.

The band’s first competitive event was at Perth Highland games in August 2009. Other than the pipe major every member that day was competing for the very first time.

Many thanks to Tesco Bank who handed over a cheque for £5000 in their Crieff Road store to the Novice Juvenile band on the  7th February.

A big thank you to Perth Round Table who handed over a cheque for £1000 to the Novice Juvenile band on the 23rd December in the Royal George Hotel.
